Dubai Vista Estate brings you the news of the week: Here are the new rules regarding overstay fines in the UAE.

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security sets fines for visa overstays at AED 50 per day.

In an increase, the cost has risen from 25DHS to 50DHS per day for resident visas. For tourist visas, the fine has been reduced from AED 100 to AED 50 per day. To pay these fines, you will have to go to the website, or to government outlets in the country.

The new visa rules came into effect on 3 October after the approval of the executive regulations of the Federal Decree Law on the Entry and Stay of Foreigners on 18 April.

”The new entry and residence system aims to attract and retain global talent and skilled workers from around the world, boost competitiveness and flexibility in the labour market and foster a high sense of stability among UAE residents and families. ”
