All you need to know about UAE Flag Day on 3 November!
Dubai Vista Estate brings you the news of the week: Everything you need to know about UAE Flag Day on 3 November!
It is a very special day that was set up by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It was to celebrate the accession in 2004 of the late Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. Every year since then, flags have been raised throughout the country.
But as many people ask, no, 3 November is not a holiday. But 1 December and 2 December are public holidays, for Martyrs’ Day and Commemoration Day and then National Day.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum recently communicated on this day: “On 3 November, our country will celebrate Flag Day. We ask all our ministries and institutions to raise it uniformly at 11am. Our flag will remain raised… The symbol of our pride and unity will remain unbroken… The banner of our pride, glory and sovereignty will remain high in the sky of achievement…”
If you have ever wondered what the colours of the UAE flag represent here is the answer:
Red = Courage/Bravery
Green = Hope/Growth
White = Peace/Honesty
Black = Solidarity/Force of Mind
